8 Feb 07, 11:16 AM kiddy: Amanmfb .. Why so many buyers queue up now? |
8 Feb 07, 09:15 AM kiddy: Scicom is up 1.5 sen at 63.5 sen. I rate this stock as the best in the Mesdap Board. |
8 Feb 07, 09:10 AM kiddy: KPS is up 6 sen at 53.5 sen. It is still far away from the 12-mth S&P's Target Price of 67 sen. |
8 Feb 07, 12:58 AM BigCroc: dylan, we may have different investing styles. I see DGATE has no obvious strong source of growth at this point, therefore I do not want to wait passively for it to re-rate. If u see differently then u may consider invest though. Who knows it will be re-rated soon for reason out of my knowledge. Bye. |

8 Feb 07, 12:38 AM dylan: maintain buyDgate Nudged from 1.90 -- 2.02 ( first page ) |
8 Feb 07, 12:37 AM dylan: CIMB didnt state the target price for DGATE written on Nov06 |
8 Feb 07, 12:29 AM BigCroc: dylan, I've actually asked about DGATE here several times last year but no reply then. I hold DGATE for several months then sold out w/o gain and loss. I noticed that DGATE's source of growth is very limited at this point. Mkt is hoping it'll be re-rated because other gaming counters have surged a lot. But DGATE is not a casino operator, only a slot machine vendor, so I don't think DGATE deserves rich valuation as gaming operators. But I cannot rule out it'll be re-rated one day. Yes, downside seems limited but w/o an obvious catalyst coming any soon, I wonder how long will it get to be re-rated. If u don't mind waiting, it's okay though. I personally prefer to hold counters that have foreseeable good catalyst coming. |
7 Feb 07, 11:59 PM dylan: Nasdaq : CSCO 28.48,ebay 33.22 |
7 Feb 07, 11:54 PM dylan: ICP move to 320+/- .. from what i have expected of 170(which i have sold) from 130 level. |
7 Feb 07, 11:54 PM dylan: previously investsmart recommend JOBS .. at that time DGATE was same level like jobs.. but jobs move ahead of dgate.. that's what i recall. |
7 Feb 07, 11:53 PM dylan: remisier send me this with all gaming stocks, moving more than 100%.i think this stock is worth on holding on to 190 to 200. It makes $.Low downside. But small free float.Agree BigCroc? |
7 Feb 07, 11:24 PM kiddy: Good Night to all. |
7 Feb 07, 11:21 PM kiddy: Dgate .. Its YTD 9mth financial results showed a good revenue & profit growth. |
7 Feb 07, 11:17 PM kiddy: What do you think the retail investors are doing? They are putting in their money in the market, or are taking out their money from the market? |
7 Feb 07, 11:15 PM BigCroc: DGATE's source of growth is also not clear. Spore casinos maybe yes, but Spore casino will only start operation in year 2009. Will and when DGATE receives the contract? If you have the patience to wait then maybe okay. |
7 Feb 07, 11:09 PM BigCroc: DGATE has always got a lot of rumuors but most are not materialised at the end. One may have to be very patience to wait for it to be rerated. |
7 Feb 07, 11:08 PM kiddy: Maybe price Dgate to PE 15 times at RM1.80. Just my rough & crude guess only. |
7 Feb 07, 11:06 PM kiddy: I think Sanbumi is the stock to play the musical chair game for which I must admit I am a real dumb. |
7 Feb 07, 11:05 PM dylan: how much you rate dgate worth at? cimb write good on this on too |
7 Feb 07, 10:49 PM kiddy: Dgate is one of the best Mesdap counter with good earning growth. Very good ROE. I think it is undervalued and is now rumoured that it is being acquired by some casino co. |
7 Feb 07, 10:46 PM dylan: declare dividend too |

7 Feb 07, 10:05 PM BigCroc: HLG Research's new TP for COASTAL is RM1.88, still has 20% upside |
7 Feb 07, 10:03 PM BigCroc: huh, Goldman Sachs becomes TMCLIFE's major shareholder |
7 Feb 07, 10:03 PM BigCroc: huh, Goldman Sachs becomes TMCLIFE's major shareholder |
7 Feb 07, 09:57 PM kiddy: The directors of Scicom are optimistic of further growth for the financial year ending 30 June 2007. |
7 Feb 07, 09:55 PM kiddy: Scicom .. Latest 2nd qtr 2007 eps = 1.26 sen up 70% yoy from 0.74 sen. |
7 Feb 07, 09:43 PM BigCroc: COASTAL won new contract before I buy back the counter, sad sad |
7 Feb 07, 09:42 PM BigCroc: investsmart, I agree with u on the AIRASIA thing, but the other side of the story is long haul no-frills airline business is an unproven one. To reduce the risk exposure it's better for AIRASIA not to directly operate the long haul flight business. I'm not sure how many people beleive in each side of the story. |
7 Feb 07, 08:02 PM longboom: http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticleNew.asp?xfile=data/opinion/2007/February/opinion_February21.xml§ion=opinion&col= |
7 Feb 07, 06:45 PM investssmart: I believe foreign investors could be shunning AIRASIA after its CEO gave the long distance flights to FAX. Now, it is believed that AIRASIA would be buying a stake in FAX. Why not just give the flying rights to AIRASIA in the first place? To me, this is a serious corporate governance issue. |
7 Feb 07, 02:46 PM kiddy: Oh! KAF is going higher. Catch me if you can! |
7 Feb 07, 01:04 PM BigCroc: anyone is interested to the new IOI and UMW CW? |
7 Feb 07, 01:01 PM BigCroc: JOBS finally surges above RM1.90 |
7 Feb 07, 01:01 PM BigCroc: Seng, GongXi Fa Chai. BTW, I think the recent surge in AIRASIA has something to do with the recent CIMB roadshow in 4 countries. Tony said during the London roadshow that the mkt will be surprise by its next qtrly result which will be released on 27/2. |
7 Feb 07, 12:52 PM Windsurfer: Hi guys, anybody tried to apply for the AmanahRaya REIT? I can't see it in the maybank ATM? |
7 Feb 07, 12:15 PM kiddy: KAF .. Also there is a little bit of volume but can it sustain ? |
7 Feb 07, 12:14 PM kiddy: SBagan .. There is a little bit of volume but can it sustain ? |
7 Feb 07, 10:17 AM Smurf: Investssmart, where do you get the news? CIMB website? |
7 Feb 07, 10:00 AM GoldmanJr: Seng : Happy holidays! Don't miss us too much |
7 Feb 07, 09:50 AM beginner: seng, gong xi fa chai..wishing u hav a big fat year and money come come ...hehe |
7 Feb 07, 09:44 AM Smurf: Seng, Kong Hei Fatt Choy!!!....:) |
7 Feb 07, 09:10 AM Windsurfer: no access to CIMB reports...^_^ |
7 Feb 07, 08:50 AM Merais: seng : ur way of handling ur profit seem to be wrong ..u spent it ? should have reinvest , right ? |
7 Feb 07, 07:51 AM Seng: Guys, I'm about to go away for CNY holidays for nearly 2 weeks, during that time, I might not be able to chat as much as I have in the past, so, KONG HEE FATT CHOY in advance (in case if I can't chat in time), and Happy Investing! Remember, don't take too much risk - given the choice between missing out some profits vs actual loss, I much prefer the former |
7 Feb 07, 07:44 AM investssmart: anyone seen the very bullish report by CIMB on GAMUDA? Noticed any critical error in the valuation? |
7 Feb 07, 07:42 AM Seng: Re LIONDIV, I think longboom is being conservative with the 30% discount. LIONDIV has $1.4B Net Cash in addition to Parkson, so, subtracting that off LIONDIV market cap suggests an even bigger discount (> 40%). Parkson has been consistently trading above $40 (albeit in current high HK stock market) and it needs to drop to below HK$20 (approx) for LIONDIV Intrinsic Value to match its market cap. I think that would be an extremely unlikely event (<5% chance?), in view of its vast potential in China, that even if it did crash and touched $20, it would only be a matter of time before sanity prevails and the price shoot up again above $20. But it seems "rationality" is not as widely available in KLSE compared to more developed stock markets overseas. |
7 Feb 07, 07:35 AM Seng: In any case, MAYBULK, to me is still a great investment, even if dividends were maintained, although those who expects dividend increase might be dissappointed if dividends remain flat and might / might not sell. |
7 Feb 07, 07:33 AM Seng: longboom, thx for the Star article on MAYBULK. I hope MAYBULK management practices what its Chairman Teo said about "believed in delivering a consistent but increasing rate year after year". There should also be some added pressure on management to increase dividend, with higher MAYBULK prices in the current stock market rally. However, this is NOT guaranteed for 2 reasons. 1. 2005 earnings (including extraordinary gain) is substantially larger than 2006 (even if MAYBULK earns 40 sen in 2006). 2. MAYBULK might not earn 40 sen (it might just earn $0.35-$0.36 if management locks in more than 50/50 into longer-term rates). If I recalled correctly, Smart projects 0.20 dividends consistent with 0.40 earnings, suggesting a 50% payout ratio, which looks reasonable. Having said that, personally, I feel the odds should be slightly better than 50/50 for dividends to increase, and this assumes MAYBULK's management has integrity to do what they say they believe in. |
7 Feb 07, 01:11 AM BigCroc: MAYBULK still has a lot of selling pressure, but it seems that support is also there. The pattern is it surges in early morning then plunge, surges back during last minute. |
7 Feb 07, 01:00 AM BigCroc: I plan to buy back KNM several, but KNM just never look back and keep on surging. sometimes I wonder whether should we wait for top-notch stocks like KNM/TOPGLOV/IOICORP for correction, or just simply buy and they will just fly off. |
7 Feb 07, 12:54 AM BigCroc: dylan, several research houses mentioned that Petronas called up 80+ O&G companies in the region for a meeting at the end of last year. It is said that Petronas has a lot projects to give out in the next 5 years. TGOFFS is believed as usual the company that receive a big dish-out, but TGOFFS's balance sheet is not in very good shape. The ones with good balance sheet are ALAM, DIALOG, COASTAL. I sold my DIALOG and COASTAL after 20% profit gain but after knowing the news. I'm waiting for a correction to buy back them. I just missed a good buy back time for COASTAL when it was at RM1.0x, now RM1.50. I was targeting RM0.9x, too low. |
6 Feb 07, 11:41 PM kiddy: CIMB Research forecast the KLCI could reach 1,440 |
6 Feb 07, 11:32 PM kiddy: Internally, barring unforeseen circumstances, MQ Tech's management expects the MQ Group to achieve approximately 40% to 50% growth in annual targets based on the recently expanded production capacity and the expected increase in orders from its customers |
6 Feb 07, 10:32 PM samgan: I can receive emails but cant send out, anyone has problem like this?any advise pls? |
